Consistency is Key: How Regular Attendance at Therapy Drives Your Children's Success

As therapists who are focused on helping your child reach their full potential through our treatment's, we also know how important your regular attendance at our scheduled sessions is to your children's successful outcomes.

When we create a therapy plan for your child, we set both long and short term goals for them. We not only see the long view of where we want to get to by the end of our time together so we also plan out all the small steps we need to take to arrive there..

Therapy Tip: For Parents

Why Consistency in Therapy is Important

Therapy Tip: Messy Play

"When your child follows directions that you provided, reward them with positive reinforcement like verbal praise or a celebratory dance so that they feel uplifted and encouraged to do it again."

Heather Danahey, SLPA | Glendale Clinic.

The Flagstaff adventure course donated two free admission passes to Therapy Tree, one to a staff member & a lucky patient.

Flagstaff Extreme is an obstacle course, in Flagstaff, that is similar to a basic military training setup with 32 zip-lines that hang high in the trees. “I think that this course pushes boundaries for a lot of people. It puts them in uncomfortable situations that causes them to grow and push themselves beyond the normal limits that they would experience in their day to day lives,” stated Sammy Riddle, one of the Safety Patrols at Flagstaff Extreme.

There are 5 courses and they are broken up by difficulty and height. As you go through it gets higher and harder. In total it takes about 4 hours to do and the highest point of the course is 65 feet. Only about 20% guests actually get through the last course. “Most people are a lot more exhausted by the end of this than they think they will be. It uses a lot of body weight muscles. I think it’s worth trying because it provides an opportunity for growth and discovering that you are actually more physically capable and braver than you perceive yourself to be,” according to Riddle. The company also has two other courses located in Florida and New Jersey.

Every two weeks we have a therapist or special guest read a children's book and post it on our Youtube channel. Did you know reading books to your children or them listening to a book reading improves their listening skills? The experts at Scholastic explain that listening is a skill kids must acquire before they can read themselves. They suggest that books on tape are a great addition to reading one-on-one with your child. These often provide entertainment value, too, like silly voices, music, and other embellishments. Every month we give away five of our Storytime books to a patient and each reader signs each book with a loving and special message. Make sure to subscribe to our Youtube Channel to stay alerted on our latest video!
