"My wife & I have been taking our son to Therapy Tree since September 2021. Since he’s been attending, his speech has improved immensely. This is all thanks to The therapy tree team! Morgan has been working with my son & he absolutely loves her! We have nothing but positive things to say!"

Hand flapping may be one of the most well-known & talked about “stims” when it comes to children so parents who see their child flap their hands may grow concerned..
The truth is that hand flapping is a fairly common behavior in toddlers. It can be seen to especially occur when they get excited, anxious or even upset. In typically developing children it is a result of having a large overflow of emotion that has to be expressed and when they don’t know what to do with all that emotion it can come out as a body movement such as hand flapping. Most toddlers will outgrow this by their 2nd or 3rd birthday as they become better at controlling unexpected emotions..

Therapy Tree Tips:
How "Toy Cars" can be Beneficial in Therapy

"Toy cars or toy airplanes are great for prepositions or spacial concepts. You can tell your child to drive a car "on the table" or "on the couch" or "under the couch." That way they get to see and use those concepts in a concrete way."
— Matt, SLPA | Glendale Clinic.

Every two weeks we have a therapist or special guest read a children's book and post it on our Youtube channel. Did you know reading books to your children or them listening to a book reading improves their listening skills? The experts at Scholastic explain that listening is a skill kids must acquire before they can read themselves. They suggest that books on tape are a great addition to reading one-on-one with your child. These often provide entertainment value, too, like silly voices, music, and other embellishments. Every month we give away five of our Storytime books to a patient and each reader signs each book with a loving and special message. Make sure to subscribe to our Youtube Channel to stay alerted on our latest video!
